Shaheen Hoosen is a dynamic and inspiring individual, who has consistently demonstrated a passion for making a difference.
From early in life, he displayed and was recognized, for leadership qualities such as being voted Head Boy, Sports Boy, Good Fellowship (positively influencing those around him), and being a DUX Award recipient in his school (M.L Sultan) located in Pietermaritzburg, Kwazulu Natal. His Leadership continued into University, where he served his campus and fellow students, in the University of Natal Pietermaritzburg’s (UNP) Orientation Programme (programme to integrate first year students with university life and responsibilities); he was later elected onto the Student Representative Council, which reflected a voice for the students. Shaheen was also one of the founding members of the UNP branch of the South African Liberal Students Association, where he went on to become the national director of recruitment in South Africa. He gained valuable international experience when he was nominated to represent South Africa at an International Academy of Leadership and Development in Germany. He graduated with his Bachelor of Commerce Degree at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal.

During his work career Shaheen also spent time in public service as an educator in a public school, he worked in the non-profit sector where he served as the Head of the Gauteng Region for the Minara Chamber of Commerce. He was also elected onto the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SACCI) Chamber Forum as the Vice Chairman. He has also served as the National General Manager for a charitable endowment trust during his time in the non-profit sector. Shaheen is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) accredited facilitator. 

Shaheen performed at high performance levels in the corporate world across multiple sectors during his corporate career. These sectors included, banking, sales, office automation, telecommunications, media and marketing, recruitment and training, funding and Finance, shipping, global real estate, maritime security and the medical industries. In all of his accomplishments Shaheen made experience and learning his primary objectives and is a personification of the full famous saying “a Jack of ALL Trades, master of None, often times better than a master of one”. Shaheen is a multi-skilled individual with a wide array of talents.
